The Beginner’s and Builder's Biogas Workshop is a two-day event. The first day (Saturday) you will learn
“All About Biogas…” and practice some techniques you can use to build your own “poly-panel household style” digester,
well suited to turning all of your organic kitchen waste into Beautiful, Burnable Biogas. You will gain a solid understanding of how to make and
use biogas. (You? Instant expert!)
On Sunday, teams of 2-3 participants will get hands-on experience with other techniques used to build a “poly-panel, household style” digester. This is an innovative digester design, made primarily from plywood and rigid
2" polystyrene, where the insulation is the container. The ply and polysty are bonded together to form a panel. Thus “poly-panel”. The household version is the smallest practical size, at 150 gallons, 570 liters slurry volume. These
digesters are designed to built using materials available at most building supply outlets: rigid polysty insulation, plywood, standard lumber....
Everyone who attends will leave with
- A copy of The Complete
Biogas Handbook. (Costs $32)
- Their own personal set of plans for the innovative new digester design described above. With these plans you can build one (or a hundred and one) of these digesters. (Worth $100)
- And a CD full of peer-reviewed and authoritative articles about biogas. (Priceless!)
